DISNEY CRUISE TO SET SAIL FROM SINGAPORE AND ACROSS SOUTHEAST ASIA

(SPOT.ph) Whether it's Mickey Mouse in black and white or The Lion King in live-action format, Disney was part of pretty much everyone's childhood. And if you wish to take the magic to a whole different level as a grownup, Disney Cruise Line has partnered with Singapore Tourism Board to bring the cruise vacation to Southeast Asia. A brand-new Disney cruise ship is calling Singapore its homeport for at least five years starting in 2025.

What We Know so Far About the Disney Cruise in Singapore

While details about the maiden voyage are yet to be revealed, Disney Cruise Line said that world-class entertainment, dining, and service that's distinctly Disney shall be expected aboard the new vessel. Activities and spaces will be built around the persona of everyone's favorite Disney characters, such as Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse, Disney Princesses, and the Marvel Super Heroes.

To be constructed at the MV Werften shipyard in Wismar, Germany, the Singapore-exclusive Disney ship will have a passenger capacity of 6,000 plus 2,300 crew members. It will also be among the first in the cruise industry to run on green methanol, one of the lowest-emission fuels available.

"This is a very exciting year for The Walt Disney Company—2023 marks our 100th anniversary. As part of this, Disney Cruise Line is currently undergoing an ambitious expansion with new ships and new destinations around the world. We are incredibly excited to make Singapore the home port to our seventh-launched ship, which will sail from here year-round starting in 2025," Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro said in a statement.

Disney Cruise Line currently has five ships in its fleet: Disney Magic with a high-speed AquaDunk waterslide, Disney Wonder with the Frozen: A Musical Spectacular for entertainment, Disney Dream with Broadway-caliber shows, Disney Fantasy with interactive play areas featuring Star Wars, and Disney Wish with themed dining spaces. Destinations include the islands in the Caribbean Region, Northern Europe, Norwegian Fjords, the Mediterranean, British Isles, Bermuda, Alaska, Canada, Mexican Riviera, Baja, Panama Canal, Hawai'i, New Zealand, Australia, and the Pacific Coast.
